Why parents ask

Usually one of four reasons: a guest with a food allergy, a family that does not do sweets, a school or daycare with a no-confectionery policy, or a party at 9am where sending fifteen children home on sugar is somebody else's problem for the rest of the day.

All four are reasonable, and none of them should mean a worse bag.

How the switch works

Every bag on the site has a lollies toggle. Turn it off and the confectionery is replaced with another toy of similar value, at the same price. You are not paying for something you have chosen not to receive.

The switch is honoured on the ready-made bags and in the builder, and it applies to the whole order — so you cannot accidentally end up with fourteen lolly-free bags and one that isn't.

What this does and does not promise

Turning lollies off removes all confectionery from the bag. That is a real guarantee and we build the picking process around it.

It is not the same as a guarantee of an allergen-free environment. Non-food items are not manufactured in allergen-controlled facilities, and we are not in a position to claim otherwise. If a child has a severe allergy, read the component list on the bag page and check with us before ordering — we would rather answer an email than get it wrong.

How we handle allergens and safety

When lollies are in

They travel in their own sealed sachet with a printed label — ingredients, allergens, best-before and a lot code — never loose in the pouch alongside a bouncy ball. That means a parent can read the label without opening the bag, and it means one clearly identified thing to remove if they would rather their child did not have it.

We do not sell chocolate in any bag, at any time of year, for reasons that have more to do with Australian summers than with nutrition.
